Terry Oliver is a former police officer with over 28 years’ experience as a first responder who specializes in personal protection. He began his personal protection training over 4 decades ago and has studied and taught numerous realistic Personal Protection systems which include verbal de-escalation strategies and personal protection skills.

Terry has extensive practical experience in the area of conflict management, workplace violence prevention, personal protection, and so much more. He is also the host of the fascinating and popular podcast called The Courage Wolf Podcast, which is about having a platform for people to share their stories of going through tough times and how they got through them. I am honored to have been a recent guest on his show, Episode #145 titled The Reluctant Ninja: How A Middle-Aged Princess Became A Warrior Queen.

Terry shares his fascinating story of how (and why) he developed a passion for safety, personal protection, law enforcement, and teaching other law enforcement members and first responders. His dedication to helping to prevent workplace violence by being proactive rather than reactive expanded his career to include corporate training programs.

Terry is also passionate about martial arts and has trained in a variety of different arts. He shares many of his experiences and insights into martial arts training, self-defense, stick fighting, and getting hit in the head by his own stick, something that this ninja can totally relate to.
