Episode #243: A World of Flying Glass with Matthew Dickson

Matthew Dickson is a mental health advocate and founder of MindAid, which was established in 2018 to help people with mental health illness in developing countries gain access to basic mental health care. He also had his own experience with mental health issues when he was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 22. He successfully recovered, even though it took him 27 years.

Matthew shares his powerful story of trying to navigate through life burdened with not only the symptoms but the stigma of living with schizophrenia. He explains the tools he learned along the way to help in his recovery, including mindset, perseverance, a healthy lifestyle, and researching multiple books and resources on mental health and healing. Eventually, Matthew knew he had to create a platform to help people all over the world who were not receiving the help they needed to recover from mental illness, as well as to share the message of hope that you are not alone, and recovery is always possible.
