Episode #427: Trauma, Resilience, and Healing with Stacy Schaffer

Stacy Schaffer is a Child and Adolescent Therapist, Author, founder and director of Strong Hearts Counseling who specializes in both grief therapy and Synergetic Play Therapy.

She is also a survivor of childhood trauma and a Licensed Professional Counselor with over twenty years’ experience in the field of mental health, and the author of the book titled “With Love from a Children’s Therapist,” which explores the lasting impact of childhood trauma, practical healing approaches, and the power of breaking silence though storytelling. There is one question which drives much of her work: What if the childhood you never talked about shaped everything you are today?

Stacy shares her own personal story of childhood trauma as she tried to navigate through the many layers of trauma which eventually drove her to pursue a career in helping others heal and recover from theirs as well.
